About Us

The Women In Wine (WIW) Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit built on the belief that wine is more than just a beverage—it is a symbol of connection, healing, and empowerment. Founded by Joycelyn Dawson, WIW was born from a desire to support women in ways she hadn’t seen before, creating a space where women from all backgrounds can come together, share their stories, and uplift one another.

Our Mission & Impact

At WIW, we open doors for women by providing scholarships for women of color pursuing wine industry certifications, offering financial support for women entrepreneurs, and ensuring that maternal care is accessible to all. Our partnerships with birth centers across the U.S. provide financial assistance to mothers seeking natural, unmedicated births, making sure every woman has the choice she deserves.

More than that, WIW is a sanctuary. We serve as a safe space for women navigating grief, domestic violence recovery, mental health struggles, divorce, and major life transitions. We know that women carry so much, often in silence. WIW exists to ensure they are seen, heard, and supported every step of the way.

Annual Summer Wine Festival

Each year, our Women In Wine Summer Festival brings together the brilliance of women in the wine and culinary industries. This immersive experience features:

• Women-led wineries and chefs crafting exceptional pairings

• Handcrafted cocktails and champagne tastings

• Yoga & Wine sessions for relaxation and reflection

• Live music, entertainment, and curated cultural experiences

Proceeds from this event directly fund scholarships, maternal care support, and business grants, creating real opportunities for women to thrive.
